I recently graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in Managerial Economics with a business emphasis from the #1 Agriculture College in the Nation.
Since Man Econ is considered to be UC Davis’s “business major”, I was exposed to a wide variety of economic, finance, and real estate topics from many passionate professors. These experiences became a catalyst to figuring out my future profession. Competing against California’s best and brightest minds pushed me every day and expanded my capacity to be able to handle the stress of a rigorous academic curriculum.
During my first year at Davis, I was fortunate enough to compete on the collegiate football team playing the position of Fullback. This experience taught me many valuable life lessons and refined many skills and characteristics including a great work ethic, time management, and discipline. These are just a few qualities that directly relate to success in the professional world.
How did early life shape your Outlook?
I grew up in a family that revolved around sports and the outdoors. Every weekend was packed with different sporting events between my brother and I. Sports brought out my competitive nature, taught me how to setup goals and formulate a plan to achieve those goals. I was never the biggest or fastest kid in high school, but I always tried to differentiate myself through tasks that require little talent. Which brings me to a favorite quote of mine, “If you’re early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late”. The minor details and extra effort that sometimes go unnoticed make the difference between success and failure.
What is your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is Lake Tahoe. It has been a family tradition since I was a young kid to spend a week at the lake every summer. Due to Tahoe's close proximity to the Bay Area, I am able to take sporadic trips for a quick weekend getaway. Tahoe offers just about every kind of outdoor activity there is. My favorite time of the year there is during the fourth of July, spending time with close friends and family watching fireworks on the lake.
